What to Expect

A coastal gathering as summer reaches its longest light.

We begin with a PARAstration Circle, then move through Pacifica’s familiar and unfamiliar places—Ace Hardware, Pedro Point, Humble Sea, and finally a sunset spot we like to call Mars.

A casual pace, with space to observe. The horizon is part of the experience.

❋ Trail

Moderate with a gradual climb. Starts on narrow single-track, opening up into exposed ridgeline with less shade as you gain elevation.

❋ Forecast

Partly sunny, cool coastal weather. High ~66°F/ 18°C. Expect shifting clouds and wind along the ridge.

Bring a warmer layer for the coastal evening—especially if you’re joining us back at Humble Sea Brewery or staying through sunset at our final stop.

How-to

Write your secret prompt on Page 1 and draw it on Page 2. Pass Page 2 to your neighbor.

Your neighbor guesses the drawing with a word on the next page. The next person draws that word. Repeat around the circle.

We’ll see what makes it back… and what it turns into.

P.S. This example has 5 people in a circle, meaning 5 prompts will circulate at the same time.

4:00 PM - Hasset Ace Hardware Parking Lot, Ace Trailhead

A quick round of PARAstration (drawing/ telephone game with Pacifica theme!). No drawing skills required. In fact, the worse you are, the better.

5:30 PM - Top of Bluff Trail

Catch your breath, take in the view, and join us for a second round of PARAstration in a solstice circle.

6:15 PM - Humble Sea Brewery

Refuel, swap stories, and grab a bite if you'd like.

7:00 PM - Bluff on Mars, Pacifica Quarry Trail

Pacifica's most Mars-like landscape. Stay for sunset (8:35 pm), horizon watching, and perhaps a whale sighting or two.

P.S. we spotted 🐋🐋🐋🐋 from here earlier this month between 7 - 8 pm.

Parking Options

If you’re meeting us at ACE -

  • There are street parking along San Pedro Ave.

  • Restrooms can be found at ACE, Humble Sea Brewery, and Grocery Outlet.

Perhaps some of you want to exploring Devil’s Slide Trail before meeting us at the top of Bluff Trail at Pedro Point Headlands -

  • There is a parking lot and vault toilet at Devil’s Slide’s North parking lot.

  • The access to South Ridge Trail is just east of the parking lot along Highway 1 (please be cautious of fast cars passing that area.

If you’re meeting us at the Bluff on Mars inside Pacifica Quarry -

  • There is a small parking lot at the running trailhead with parking option along the curb.

  • Park across the street in Vallemar or space next to Guerrilla BBQ.

  • There’s a restroom behind Guerrero Taqueria that can be accessed from the North side of the building. Or there’s another one at Chevron gas station.

Perhaps some of you plan to explore Mori Point or Rockaway Beach Trail that afternoon -

  • The Mars-like landscape is in between Mori Point and Rockaway Beach.

  • If you’re coming in from the Pacifica Quarry Running Trail, just follow the widest path towards the East.

  • The last meeting spot is at the top of the Southern Bluff.
